well, the big day is almost here! or in our case, the long weekend o’ celebrating is almost here. =)
for those of you who don’t know, we’re forgoing the traditional wedding for something a bit different. here’s the idea we came up with:
friday: we’re parking ourselves on a sunny patio for a couple hours, sharing a drink or two with both nashville + out-of-town friends.
saturday: our big outdoor engagement / pre-wedding party for about 80 people. we’re going for an ‘upscale southern’ theme that should be simply lovely.
sunday: a relaxing mid-morning champagne brunch for us + our families (about 30 people will be there).
monday: our actual wedding ceremony with just our parents present, then we’re heading off to our honeymoon in st. kitts + nevis!
so that’s the plan! we are both thrilled for all the wonderful things to come in these next few days. thank you to all of you who left me amazing words of wisdom – they were such a joy to read + reread over the past month. get excited: next time you see a blog post from me, i’ll be married! AHHHH!
(side note: i took the above picture in our backyard the other night. it has nothing to do with getting married, but i still thought it was pretty).

That sounds so lovely…I can’t wait to hear all about it and see some pics when you get back!! Take time to savor every moment of it all…the time sort of rushes by after the time spent planning every little detail. So really sit back and soak it all in for a moment. I will add that it’s very surreal to have everyone from all aspects of your life — friends, family, college roomates, co-workers, etc. — in one place at one time. My wedding was hands down the BEST day of my life so far…just magical! We had just over 100 people at our wedding — just immediate family and closest friends. See you on the other side, doll!
good luck + enjoy! it’ll be over so quickly :). i’ll be thinking of you!
woohooo! So excited for the two of you! I know everything will be wonderful! Can’t wait for a bloggy recap of all the festivities
That’s the way to do it!
I think this sounds simply lovely, cozy, and completely perfect.Best of luck to you both, enjoy yourself, each other, and close family and friends that is what is all about.Best wishes,!!!
Lots of love to you and yours…I hate that we have to miss the party on SA…but will be thinking of you….and sending lots of love your way….and (true confession) will be slightly jealous as we envision you happily sunning in beautiful Nevis and St. Kitts with a tasty martini in hand; I can’t think of a more lovely person to get to enjoy such bliss. xo
Enjoy your beautiful weekend and glorious honeymoon destination! Best wishes to both of you
