we are back in nashville, safe + sound, after our wonderful caribbean honeymoon! lots of you have requested pictures/posts about our surprise wedding celebration + vacation, + i’ve got some great ones in the works. until then, though, i must give a birthday shoutout to the coolest pup i know, our dog skylar.
skylar turns five years old today. when i reminded her that it was her birthday + told her that i would even mention it on my blog, she looked like this:
so, happy birthday skylar! we shall celebrate all day with martinis for the humans + treats for the dogs! or, you’ll nap most of the morning, i’ll give you a biscuit when you wake up, then you’ll nap all afternoon. whatever works for you – it is your birthday, after all.

skylar sends her thanks! she had a wonderful nap-filled birthday that ended with a new dog toy (a ridiculous stuffed monkey) + some sliced banana – her new favorite treat. =)
look at that face,now that is a happy dog.she looks like she knows it is her birthday.
i know! she does, doesn’t she? it’s so funny – she always seems to open her mouth when i pull out the camera + make that sorta smile. such a ham!
