engagement party / surprise wedding invitations

hey all! as promised, i’ll be highlighting some of the details of our engagement party/surprise wedding in the upcoming weeks. here’s your first glance into our party – the invitations + response cards!

since we envisioned an ‘upscale southern/country’ vibe for our party, i knew i wanted that reflected first + foremost in the invitations. i turned to etsy, since i knew i’d be able to find something chic + affordable, + stumbled across april ink, a great etsy shop. i worked closely with shannon,the amazingly professional, talented + cool woman behind april ink, to get exactly what we wanted. we were thrilled when the invitations/response cards arrived – they were absolutely flawless, with a fabulous vintage feel + wonderful little details.

as much as i love the invites, i might love the response cards even more. the coolest thing is that many people wrote individual notes or happy sentiments on the cards before sending them back to us. everyone’s little notes + drawings were just as fun to see as whether or not they’d be attending the party (which awesomely, most people did – we had an amazing turn out). we actually saved each + every response card + put in our wedding scrapbook so we can look back on them for years to come.
