sampling summer cocktails video (+ a music video!)

by Amy on 4 August 2011

when people learn you’re a food blogger, they frequently ask, what’s your favorite local restaurant? on the top of my highly-recommended list is the wonderful watermark restaurant. imagine my pleased surprise when watermark contacted me a few weeks ago to see if i’d be the taste-tester in a video featuring their new summer cocktails. of course, i agreed, + i’m so happy i did.
to see the amazing concoctions i sampled, check out the video below!

some of you might ask, is this the first video you’ve been in? randomly, no! a few years ago, i did a bit of print + video modeling, + while i never made it big (clearly!), i participated in some awesome projects. one such experience was filming a music video for jewel’s song ‘stronger woman.’ i play a stifled victorian woman + my (admittedly limited) screen time is after the 1:30 mark. enjoy!

now, if i can find a video opportunity where i can wear a victorian wig AND drink cocktails, i’ll be set!

Only in Nashville… :)

amen! only in nashville would:
1) jewel become a country singer
2) a food blogger play a victorian woman in a music video
=)

I love this!

and i heart you! i wish you could have seen me on the music video set — i was nervous, which manifested itself by me bebopping around frantically. it wasn’t pretty.

You’re famous! Look at you go! I might have to try that place out when I come in for Food Blog Forum. And how awesome you were in Jewels video!!

Cocktail Taster? You just landed my dream job haha. That is such a sweet deal. And you should be doing more on-screen modeling gorgeous girl!

i know, right? best job ever! thanks for your sweet words! modeling was a ton of fun + now i have wonderful pictures I can look back on. my husband has a few framed in the house, which makes me embarrassed + flattered at the same time. =)

You were so great and looked gorgeous, Amy! And, just to let you know…I think it is SOO cool that you were in a music video! Awesomeness.

you are too sweet! the cocktails video is very ‘me’ which is fun + it was definitely cool to be in a real music video. i love that i can look back on them both in the future!

Sweet! That’s totally awesome. Also, I’ve been dying to go to watermark.

ooh, have you seen the awesome fixed-price menu they’re featuring through the end of August? we’re definitely going in the next few weeks to take advantage of it — i’ll email you the details! thanks for your kind words. =)

love watermark! It’s one of my favorites. Will you be at Food Blog Forum in Nashville in October?

18 amy August 4, 2011 at 5:22 pm

isn’t it just wonderful? we already went once this summer + are planning another trip there soon. and yes, i’ll be at food blog forum — tickets are already purchased. hopefully i’ll get to meet you there!

20 amy August 5, 2011 at 7:22 am

yay for new visitors – glad you made your way here. i’m not quite famous yet, but maybe that’s in my future! =)

21 traciwilbur August 5, 2011 at 2:17 pm

love both videos! you are so stinkin’ cute. i need to go back to watermark – haven’t been in about 3 yrs and i have no idea why. we get stuck in the “close to home” rut i guess.

22 amy August 5, 2011 at 2:39 pm

thank you, traci! we should have a double date at watermark, or even better, get a big group of bloggers together to go. the food is just amazing.

That’s pretty darn cool!! I love the costume you were wearing in the Jewel video! :)

24 amy August 7, 2011 at 5:51 pm

the costume (+ wig) were really cool indeed! the only thing that wasn’t fun was that my size 8 feet were shoved into those size 6 victorian booties. it took three of us to get them on, ha!

Crazy small world.
I started working for Jewel during this single cycle. My classmate Cari is the Marie Antoinette character… Insanity.

28 amy August 8, 2011 at 4:20 pm

whoa, that is crazy! nashville is such a bizarrely small world – i think that all the time!

29 Cooks_Books August 11, 2011 at 12:27 am

You’re in a music video, who would’ve guessed?! Well, actually, I’m not at all surprised. And you look gorgeous, btw. (My video claim-to-fame is about 1 second as an extra in an Oliver Stone movie. Ha!) So fun – you should try for more. :)

30 amy August 11, 2011 at 10:07 am

thank you so much! it was a super fun experience. i’d love to see your Oliver Stone movie cameo – that’s still pretty impressive, even if it just was for a second or two!
