there are few things that make my taste buds happier than fresh peaches in summertime. peaches are my absolute favorite fruit + i look forward to their arrival every year. juicy, scrumptious peaches are in full force at our farmer’s market recently, + while i’ve devoured most of them while standing over my sink, juice dripping everywhere, i’ve also tried to use them in new, fun recipes.
when i saw this recipe for fresh peach lemonade a couple weeks ago, i knew i had to try it. and sweet fancy moses, i’m so glad i did. this lemonade is absolutely wonderful + it makes for a crisp, refreshing warm weather drink. while it’s perfect just the way it is, i think it would be fantastic made into fruit tea by mixing it with brewed black ice tea. or, it would make an amazing summer cocktail if you added some white rum, vodka, or bourbon! regardless of which way you drink it, i know that you’ll love it!
and if you’re looking for some more uses for those awesome, fresh peaches, check out these peach + amaretto popsicles or this fresh peach + raspberry galette. both are incredible!
fresh peach lemonade
makes 8 servings, adapted from cooking light
ingredients
4 cups water
2 cups coarsely chopped peaches
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup fresh lemon juice (from about 6 lemons)
4 cups ice
1 peach for garnish, cut into 8 wedgesdirections
combine the first 3 ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. bring to a boil; reduce heat, + simmer for 3 minutes. place peach mixture in a blender; let stand for 20 minutes.
remove center piece of blender lid (to allow steam to escape); secure blender lid on blender. place a clean towel over opening in blender lid. blend until smooth. pour into a large bowl. refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
press peach mixture through a sieve over a bowl, reserving liquid + discarding solids. stir in lemon juice. place 1/2 cup ice in each of 8 glasses. pour about 2/3 cup lemonade into each glass; garnish each glass with a peach wedge.

Love this! And I love that it doesn’t require too much sugar!
yes! + since it doesn’t have much sugar, that means that each glass is less than 100 calories, which is pretty impressive!
I love this, and it sounds so yummy and refreshing!
I’ve never even heard of a peach lemonade. But it sounds interesting and I like the color
i had never heard of it either ’til i saw it this month in cooking light magazine. i worried that it might be too sweet or syrupy, but that definitely wasn’t the case – it turned out even more delicious + refreshing than i had hoped!
These look gorgeous and so refreshing! I love drinking stuff like this in the summer–we’ll definitely give this a try! Hmmm, off to go get some peaches…
This post makes me realise just how long it has been since I’ve had a proper peach, for some reason they seem underused in England but I must remedy that!
oh my this looks just awesome. so refreshing! (and I am sure just as good spiked!)
This sounds so yummy and refreshing! Mmmm….
oh my! Looks delicious and refreshing. We are able to get fresh peaches from the TX hill country this time of year. Now I know what I’m going to do with them:) Thanks for sharing this fabulous recipe.

Oh man this looks so incredibly refreshing! And I have so many peaches and lemons just sitting in the fridge so you know I’ll be making this when I get home from work
I just saw a recipe that did peach and thyme, so I might combine that idea with this recipe. Mmm!
that sounds like a wonderful combo, Aly – can’t wait to hear how it turns out!
This is making me thirsty!! I can’t wait for fresh peaches in Colorado – it should be soon!
This sounds delish! Perfect use for The Peach Truck peaches….with vodka or gin sounds even better 😉
OMG this looks so refreshing! Saw it on twitter this morning and am STILL craving it! Peaches are one of my very favorite summer fruits. Adding a touch of vodka to this and sitting out by the pool = heaven.
i wish you lived closer, sally – i have a huuuge pitcher of this in the fridge + would love to share, especially if there was vodka involved. =)
Oh, this sounds so perfect for summer and it’s diet friendly, too. Gotta love that!
I could have used a glass of this today as I was sitting on the AC-less train, full of people who refused to let me open the window. And this is such a pretty color! I can’t wait for peach season to get here. Hopefully it won’t be too long because I’d love to give this a try!
Amy this sounds thirst quenching! It’s steamy in NH this week I think I might need to make myself some of this!
With the abundance of Texas peaches around lately, this is definitely on my list to try! Lovely drink, Amy. Possibly good with rum, too! 😉 Thanks for sharing.
i think it could be wonderful with rum, georgia – do report back on how it is if you try it like that!
OMG … so light, refreshing and summery … Dear hubby and I would love to have one
oh yum! i need to spike this with some alcohol
Looks so delicious! I want some right now!
Oh yes! What a refreshing drink for summer! I am ready to make it with local fresh Georgia peaches.
Peaches are my favorite too! I also eat them over my sink haha, especially when they’re really juicy. I’ve never had them combined with lemon but I’m sitting here imagining how refreshing that must be. And I like that tea idea too [:
Lovely! This is perfect for summer
I went ahead and added this to my “to make immediately” list because when I saw this on IG, i started salivating and started craving peach lemonade SO badly. peaches are like one of my favorite fruits and i adore lemonade. oh amy, this just looks SOO refreshing and something I’d love to sip on while sitting on a porch or deck!
I am trying to get caught up with everyone now that I’m settling back in after vacation! I could REALLY use a big glass of this right about now…love peaches. This is super creative, amy!
This looks like the perfect summertime drink, and that color is absolutely GORGEOUS!
I’m already bugging my sister to bring peaches with her when she visits next weekend (she’s from North Carolina, and they are so good there!). Definitely making this when I have some!
I seriously just walked out to the peach trees in the dark and got some more peaches so I could make this first thing in the morning. *love*
that makes me sooo happy to hear! i can’t wait to hear whatcha think of the lemonade!
Obsessed! This is the perfect summer cooler, Amy. And I’m thinking a little splash of Grand Mariner or peach schnapps would turn this sipper into a fab cocktail as well.
I am sighing ith love and more love right now for this million dollar drink 😀
Cheers

Amy, your blog is just darling, and this drink looks like a cup of heaven. Thank you so much for sharing with me. I so wish it was 4:00 instead of 9:00 am. I could totally use one of these!
I’ve never had a peach drink but this sounds perfectly refreshing for hot summer days! I’m with you… can’t wait for those first few amazingly ripe local peaches.
Of course you probably knew I would say this, but there is only one thing to improve this drink…a little vodka delight.
you know i support that! adding a little vodka could only make this more delicious. =)
Oh yum yum YUM! Such a great summer drink, especially there in the south where you have such great peaches.
I am heading your way in early August, so it could be fun to get together (if I can find time during my conference…). Let me know if you are up for it!
thanks, Tiffany! + i would LOVE to meet up while you’re in town – I’ll send you an email + we can plan something! =)
I saw this in my cooking light and immediately saved it for later. So glad to know it’s great and yours looks fantastic! I just had a juicy peach at lunch…over the sink with the juice everywhere!;)
This screams summer!
Just gorgeous Amy! Pinning this now, and I’ll be looking forward to your green smoothie tomorrow
Solid drink of choice – I love peaches and lemonade, so it’s the perfect combo!
